In 2022, compared to 2021, sales of heat pumps in Poland increased by 120%. Until o 137% - the number of air-to-water heat pumps sold has increased. For five years now, there has been a huge increase in the interest in installing air-to-water heat pumps. The total installed volume of air-to-water heat pumps last year was 188,200 units.
What has driven the increased interest in heat pumps?
The main factors behind this high growth in the sale of heat pumps in Poland are the high level of user comfort and attractiveness. Among the many advantages are:
- high operating comfort,
- lower heating costs compared to other heat sources,
- Increasing confidence in technology,
- greater environmental awareness,
- attractive subsidies for investors.
The main impetus contributing to the marked increase in interest in heat pumps in 2022 was the significant increases in the prices of energy carriers and fuels, which reached levels of over 100% (relative to 2021). The thermo-modernisation allowance and changes to the Clean Air Programme, increasing financial support for heat pumps, were also important. In December 2022, the share of heat pumps in the Clean Air programme was as high as 63% in the total number of applications for heat source replacement. The My Heat programme has also been very popular among beneficiaries of new residential buildings. Since its launch, i.e. from the end of April 2022 to the end of January 2023, more than 15,000 applications have been submitted for funding to install heat pumps in new single-family buildings.
Outlook 2023
PORT PC forecasts that further growth in sales of air-to-water heat pumps in Poland can be expected in 2023. In the optimistic variant, this could amount to around 40-50 % compared to 2022.
The main drivers of heat pump sales will be the attractiveness of heating costs and support programmes when using this technology in the coming years.
