AgroEnergy - subsidy programme for agriculture

National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has confirmed a new launch date for the second part of the Agroenergy programme. The announced date is 20 July 2021.

The programme is aimed at the agricultural sector and aims to increased energy production from RES installations. Supporting investment in renewable energy sources will help to reduce the harmful impact of agricultural activity on the environment, as well as enabling farms to develop and become more efficient.

The programme is scheduled to run for the years 2019-2027and the call for proposals is ongoing. The planned budget is 200 million goldincluding up to PLN 153.4 million for non-refundable forms of co-financing and up to PLN 46.6 million for repayable forms of co-financing.

Who is the programme aimed at?

The programme is open to participation:

  • individual owning or renting an agricultural property, the total area of which is between from 1 ha to 300 ha
  • legal entity which owns or leases agricultural land with a total utilised agricultural area within the following limits from 1 ha to 300 ha

Individuals interested in funding must at least one year prior to the application to be personally involved in agricultural activities, and legal persons to be involved in agricultural activities or business activities in the field of agricultural services for at least one year.

Which installations are covered?

Funding is available for all RES installations with a capacity of 10 kWp - 50 kWp.

These can be:

  • photovoltaic installations
  • wind installations
  • heat pumps
  • associated energy storage (Funding will be up to 20% of eligible costs, at the same time the eligible cost cannot be more than 50%. of the energy generation source. In order to receive funding, the energy storage must be integrated with the RES installation, which should be implemented in parallel with the Agroenergia programme)
  • hybrid installations (being a set of at least two separate RES installations: a photovoltaic installation with a heat pump or a wind power plant combined with a heat pump). In this case the total power of the entire installation may be greater than 50 kW, but the power of individual units shall not exceed 50 kW)

How much funding can be obtained?

Amount that can be received depends on the power of the installation.

  • Installation in the compartment 10-30 kWp - up to PLN 15 000 (but not more than 20% of total eligible costs)
  • Installation in the compartment 30-50 kWp - up to PLN 25 000 (no more than 13% of total eligible costs)

In the case of hybrid installations, the subsidy is calculated on the basis of the power of each device installed separately and an allowance of PLN 10 000 is provided.

Good to know

  • It is not possible to take advantage of the agricultural relief and apply for Agroenergy funding at the same time.
  • The grant does not cover the extension of an existing installation.
  • The planned investment can start at the earliest the day after the application is submitted.
  • The Agroenergy programme also offers grants or loans for agricultural biogas plants and small hydropower plants.
