The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is launching a new call for proposals under intervention I.10.2 „Investments on farms in the field of RES and energy efficiency improvement” - Area B, which includes micro-installations producing energy from solar radiation.

Who can apply for funding?

The aid is aimed at farmers - natural persons, legal entities and partners in civil partnerships - who:

  • are engaged in agricultural activities and have an EP number,
  • have received a single area payment (or basic income support) in the year of application or the previous year,
  • are at least 18 years old (natural persons),
  • have received or committed to receive on-farm energy efficiency training in the 24 months prior to the application.

What can you get a grant for?

The grant covers investments to improve the energy efficiency of the farm, including:

  • purchase of a photovoltaic micro-installation with electricity storage,
  • purchase of a solar thermal energy generation facility,
  • purchase of thermal energy storage,
  • purchase of heat pumps coupled to a PV installation,
  • implementation of energy flow management systems on the farm.

For PV installations, energy storage is mandatory - its capacity (in kWh) must be at least 0.5 times the value of the installed PV capacity (in kW).

What conditions must be met?

In order to receive funding, the investment must meet, among other conditions, the following:

  • the project cannot be started before the application has been submitted,
  • The investment must be completed within 24 months of signing the contract,
  • the eligible cost of the investment is a minimum of PLN 20 000,
  • energy from the micro-installation must be used for the farm's own needs,
  • the power of the installation must not exceed 50 kW for each point of consumption (PPE),
  • the fraction of capacity allocated to residential buildings on the farm may not exceed 10 kW and 20% of the total PV installation capacity.

How to score points and increase your chances?

The award of aid is determined by the number of points awarded according to the following criteria:

  • livestock farming (min. 5 LU) - 4 points,
  • organic or integrated production - 2 points,
  • implementation of the investment in protected areas - 1 point,
  • farmer under 40 years of age - 2 points,
  • No previous PV subsidy from RDP 2014-2020 - 3 points,
  • efficiency of PV installations:
    • 21% - 3 pts
    • 18-21% - 2 pts
    • <18% - 1 pt.

In order for an application to be successful, it is necessary to obtain a minimum 6 points.

Why use it?

With this subsidy, farmers can significantly reduce their electricity and heat bills, increase the energy independence of their farm and upgrade their infrastructure. This is a real step towards a green transformation of Polish agriculture.
