A heat pump is an appliance that is supposed to operate faultlessly for many years. However, in order to ensure that it has a long service life and remains highly efficient, it is necessary to carry out regular maintenance. This is why more and more users are asking themselves: Is it worth doing a heat pump service? The answer is - definitely yes!
What are the benefits of regular heat pump servicing?
– Maintenance of the manufacturer's warranty - only a confirmed inspection maintains warranty protection.
– Safety in use - expert inspection reduces the risk of failure during the heating season.
– Higher efficiency and savings - correct performance means lower electricity bills.
– Longer equipment life - clean filters and a functioning refrigeration system protect the compressor from wear and tear.
– Thermal comfort and peace of mind - the assurance that the system operates smoothly all year round.
When should the heat pump be serviced?
The first mandatory inspection of the heat pump should be carried out before one year has elapsed since the installation of the appliance. In subsequent years, manufacturers usually require annual inspections, especially in the case of an extended warranty (e.g. 5 years).
The best time to perform the service is period before the heating season - In this way, any faults can be detected and rectified before the cold weather sets in.
Who can perform a heat pump inspection?
The service should carry out manufacturer's authorised service agent or a representative of a company that has his or her authorisation.
It is worth knowing that work on the refrigerant circuit can only be performed by specialists with f-gas authorisations.
What does the heat pump service cover?
The scope of work depends on the manufacturer, but a standard inspection includes, among other things:
- checking the refrigeration system for leaks and pressure,
- checking filters, sensors and electrical connections,
- evaluation of compressor operation and system pressure,
- cleaning the heat exchanger,
- analysis of errors stored in the controller.
On completion of the service, the technician draws up an inspection report and makes an entry in the warranty card.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
The price depends on the type and complexity of the device, but is usually:
- PLN 600-700 for standard models,
- To PLN 1000 or more with combination pumps (e.g. with storage tank, DHW module, weather-compensated control).
It is worth remembering that the service is an investment in safety and reliability, which avoids costly repairs in the future.
Is heat pump servicing really worth it?
Yes. Regular maintenance is not only a warranty requirement, but also a real savings and security. Negligent servicing can lead to a drop in efficiency of up to several per cent and significantly shorten the life of the compressor.
That's why it's worth scheduling an inspection before winter - then you can be sure that your heat pump is operating at maximum efficiency and keeping you comfortable on the coldest days.
