From 1 February 2023. the fourth call for applications for the Energy Plus programme, which is aimed at entrepreneurs, will be launched. The aim of the programme is to reduce the negative impact of businesses on the environment and improve air quality by supporting investment projects.

Deadlines and method of submission

The call is being held on a rolling basis. Applications to the programme should be submitted within the deadline of From 01.02.2023 - 13.12.2024 r. or until the allocation of funds is exhausted. Documents can only be submitted electronically, via the Grant Application Generator, using an electronic signature. You will need to create an account and then log on to the NFOŚiGW website at http://gwd.nfosigw.gov.pl and select the relevant priority programme.

Who can become a beneficiary?

Entrepreneurs can become beneficiaries of the 'Energy Plus' programme. The size, sector or specificity of the business does not matter. With the funds raised, entrepreneurs can receive financial support for green investments

Energy Plus IV - Budget and forms of funding 

Funding will be provided in the form of a loan. Beneficiaries under the programme can receive a loan from PLN 0.5 million to PLN 500 million - up to 85% of eligible costs.

The loan may be granted for a period of not longer than 15 years calculated from the date of the scheduled payment of the first tranche. This form of support may be partially de-committed in the amount of up to 10% of the loan amount disbursed, but not more than PLN 1 million.

Programme implementation period 

The Energy Plus programme will run from 2019 to 2025, with:

  • commitments (understood as signing contracts) will be made until 2023,
  • funds will be spent until 2025.

Types of projects subject to co-financing

Entrepreneurs can apply for funding under the Energy Plus programme for projects leading to:

  • the construction, extension or modernisation of existing production facilities or industrial equipment, resulting in a reduction in the consumption of primary raw materials,
  • reducing emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere from combustion plants,
  • modernising equipment or equipping combustion installations to reduce emissions of harmful gases and dust,
  • the construction or expansion of generating units that produce energy from renewable energy sources or use waste heat or cogeneration heat, together with their connection to the grid,
  • the use of new sources of heat and electricity - e.g. photovoltaic installation.
  • modernisation/extension of district heating networks.

Evaluation of the grant application

Each Energy Plus proposal submitted will be assessed against the following criteria:

  1. access criteria - related to the fulfilment of general guidelines (formalities);
  2. qualitative criteria - related to the degree to which environmental objectives are met:
  • qualitative scoring criteria;
  • qualitative criteria acceptable;
  1. horizontal (optional) criteria - related to environmental benefits in a broader perspective.

The minimum level required for the successful evaluation of an application is 60% points possible. Failure to meet any of the criteria (0 points) will result in rejection of the application.
